Tita Cantu is a Mexican artist born in 1990 in Monterrey, Mexico.  From an early age, Tita was immersed in an artistic environment that nurtured her passion for painting and writing.   This passion can be found in her teaching and her artwork.  In addition to painting and teaching, Tita curates group exhibitions and actively fosters creativity by offering painting classes to young girls.

Tita has a degree in International Affairs as well as a Master’s in Arts and Humanities, with a certificate in Art History.  Her work has been showcased in different cultural venues.   Most recently, at the Spectrum Art Fair in Miami, where we first encountered her artwork.

The painting Your Hand, My Courage: Mine, Your Comfort is about honoring mothers and the joy, we, as children feel knowing that mothers are always there, giving a hand no matter what. Her inspiration for the painting was drawn from photograph she took in South Africa.

Tita was particularly drawn to the mother, as her own mother had recently passed.  She wanted to frame the scene of holding hands and that joy of feeling support and love.

This painting can be seen at The Wit Gallery, 27 Church Street, Lenox, Massachusetts.
