Medium: mixed media assemblage with resin

Dimensions: 43" h x 30" w x 3" d

This portrait of Dr. Jane Goodall is inspired by the iconic 1963 National Geographic cover image, capturing deep connection with chimpanzees.

Surrounding Jane are vintage ceramic chimpanzees and other creatures, which I collected and integrated into the border of the piece.

A ceramic dog represents Rusty, her childhood companion, who helped shape her early understanding of animal behavior.

Additionally, a 3D-printed Tarzan book nods to the childhood stories that fueled her passion for wildlife. Goodall revolutionized our understanding of

animal intelligence and have spent six decades advocating for conservation that includes both wildlife and local communities.

She continues to inspire global action to protect our planet. The piece features a monstera leaf text bubble with her quote: "The greatest threat to our planet is apathy”.
