“I have a wonderful friend and collector in Orlando who works as a pharmacist for Disney World – he also happens to be an incredible wildlife photographer.  On one visit to Florida, while my family and I had some free time from showing at Epcot, at the Festival of the Arts, he and his wife took us to Circle B, an amazing wildlife preserve, and the place where he takes a lot of his photos.  His images inspired me so much that I wanted to do a painting based on some of my favorites, which is how “Creation” was born.  It was a lot of fun working with Dan – who also makes a personal appearance in the piece – working out the titles together, and I’m forever grateful for his permission to use his photographs.  From the rivers and creeks of my native Delmarva to the mountains of my current home in the Shenandoah Valley, I’ve always enjoyed spending time in nature and it’s been an important part of my life.  I sought to capture some of the wonder and glory I see in the world around us and Dan’s wildlife photography is the perfect vehicle for allowing me to do that.  Creating “Creation” was a very enjoyable collaborative project for me and deeply fulfilling!  ~ John-Mark Gleadow
