My fascination is with people, it has been a consistent theme throughout the years. I differentiate between the figure and a person. A “person” represents humanity within the painting. It is a place in time, an age, an emotion, a purpose, a relationship. The “figure” is an abstract concept without a place or perspective.

The styles and mediums in which the images have been conveyed have varied. However, the images always tell a story, “You just have to ask.” The paintings are about friends, neighbors, family and relationships with your pet. They are brief interactions, moments in time that have made an impression and sometimes that moment in time becomes a painting, the painting tells a story.
Oils are my medium of choice; it has a versatility that is limitless. From opaque to translucent, impasto to washes, brush strokes and crayons, the color and lines reflect mood and emotion.
