MIXED MEDIA

“I am an artist who uses images to tell stories. The charcoal line, the unadulterated and powerful is the backbone of what I create. In that line, joy, sorrow and strength are found. It is still the quiet moments of life that inform my work. The tranquility of a cup of tea and a good book speak to my soul. Balancing serenity in a very busy world is an ever-present challenge. My work speaks to the joy of capturing moments of peace. Using fabric as my palette is a unique choice which infuses pattern, texture and color. The imagery and textiles symbolize the fiber of living.”

Sharon Tesser holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Washington University in St. Louis with a specialty in illustration and studied at The Studio Art Center International in Florence, Italy, for Art History and Restoration.  She has worked as a freelance illustrator publishing pieces with the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Little Brown and McGraw Hill.
