I am fascinated by people, it has been a consistent theme throughout the years. The styles in which the images have been conveyed have varied, occasionally sprinkled with a landscape. The paintings always tell a story, “you just have to ask.” The paintings are about friends, neighbors, family relationships and brief interactions with strangers; they are “moments in time.” The color palate is as important as the imagery, it conveys the mood and feelings of the story.
I have been using oils all my life; I can remember taking the paint from the paint by number kits and making my own paintings. The medium provides a richness and integrity of color. There is a flexibility that provides countless possibilities in application.
